The free spirited little ones are the ones to be admired the most. Children are fearless till we teach them fear. We continue to fill their minds with vivid descriptions of the dark world and teach them to be scared of the unknown. There are a very select few parents who haven’t gone down this path.
Children perceive things differently from the way adults do. As we grow older our minds are conditioned to think in a particular way. This defines our character. We become predictable. The worst thing that an adult can do for a child is to try and confine them and show them a mould that they have to fit into. We need to give our children space to grow up into the people they want to be. Each child has an individual personality that can help them be outstanding people if we didn’t create barriers and blockades for them at each step of their life. What if we gave a child the liberty to be themselves? It might put us in a embarrassing position at times if they go forth blurting all that is on their mind. But it is worth the risk to see them go on to do something remarkable with their life.
Let us not tell the young ones what they should think or feel. Let us just show them the boundaries of right and wrong. Let us teach them moral values and ethics instead of limiting them to suit our social status.
Travelling and seeing new places, interacting with people from other cultures and countries can do wonders for an over all development of a child. Exposing our children to what the world has to offer instead of restricting them from going places. children who travel have an advantage over other kids. they have an experience of having seen for themselves. What a different destination can do for a child is totally different from what an adult experiences when they travel on a holiday.
This is the one reason I believe that children should be encouraged to go on school excursions and see new places..Traveling in a group with peers in itself is a wonderful learning opportunity. Self reliance, confidence, the sense of responsibility and so much more. You will see the difference in your child even if it is a short school trip of just a few days.
Many parents feel that travel is a waste of money and the school is just trying to make them spend. Change your perspective – see what it can do for your child. What a difference it will make in his or her life and their future. The school trip is an investment for your child’s success in life.
